2025

Europe’s Largest Truck Deal

In May 2025, Girteka signed a major deal with Volvo Trucks to purchase 2,000 brand-new heavy-duty vehicles, marking Europe’s largest single truck order of the year, as part of the company’s ambition to keep its fleet modern, efficient, and ready to meet customer needs.
Alternative Fuel Program (AFP)

In May 2024, Girteka launched the Alternative Fuel Program (AFP) by integrating HVO fuel into its operations.
2023

Global Growth

In 2023, Girteka marked the opening of a new administrative office in Kaunas, Lithuania, and driver recruitment offices in Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan. In 2022, the company established its Girteka Business Services office in Tbilisi, Georgia.
Rebranding

In 2022, Girteka changed its identity and introduced a new logo with green color representing growth, and bright blue symbolizing trust and reliability.
SAP Partnership & ECTA

In 2020, Girteka announced a partnership with enterprise software provider SAP, aiming to automate and streamline processes across the organization, and joined the European Clean Trucking Alliance (ECTA).
2019

New Transport Base

In 2019, Girteka opened a new transport base near Poznan, Poland, and purchased its first Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) truck.
Digital Transformation

In 2018, Girteka digitalized its external and client operations by implementing a Transport Fleet Management System (FMS), Electronic Data Interchange (EDI), and Real-Time Visibility (RTV). The company was also nominated as one of the top 100 innovative European companies.
TNDM Launch & GDP Certification

Girteka launched a new service in 2017 — a dedicated fleet solution, now known as TNDM Trucking — obtained the GDP (Good Distribution Practices) certificate, and implemented intermodal rail freight transportation.
2016

20th Anniversary

In 2016, Girteka celebrated its 20th anniversary, marking two decades of commitment to excellence and growth, reaching 270,000 FTLs annually with a fleet of 2,900 trucks, 7,900 employees, and a turnover of 500 million euros.
TAPA TSR Level 1 Certification

In 2015, Girteka received the TAPA TSR Level 1 certification for secure transportation, joined the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC), implemented LEAN methodologies for its operations, and acquired Thermo-Transit — a seafood logistics business in Scandinavia.
SQAS Attestation

By 2014, Girteka passed the SQAS attestation for chemical goods transportation, employed 6,500 professionals, and increased its storage space to 200,000 m².
Towards Scandinavia

In 2013, Girteka acquired the Norwegian company Thermomax, strengthening its presence in the Scandinavian logistics market.
2010

First Transport Base

In 2010, the company opened its first transport base in Šiauliai, Lithuania.
10th Anniversary

In 2006, Girteka celebrated its 10th anniversary, reaching a fleet of 400 trucks and a team of 1,000 employees.

The First Milestone

Growing steadily over the years, in 2004 Girteka established its first logistics terminal, covering 1,700 m².
