Since its establishment, Girteka Logistics has grown to be one of the biggest transport companies in Europe. Currently, Girteka Logistics fleet consists of 6 700 trucks and 7 000 trailers, and has already employed its 13 000 th driver!
On the October 24, in our transport base in Smolensk we welcomed our 13 000 th driver. During his speech, Alexander Gelvanovsky, the head of the Smolensk branch, congratulated all with such a significant achievement of the company. Alexander mentioned that the transport base in Smolensk was opened just 4 years ago. At the similar time 3 years ago first truck with Russian number plates was registered. Emphasizing the rapid growth of Girteka Logistics, Alexander highlighted that within the same week as the 13 000th driver was celebrated, Smolensk base could already count 1 500 trucks in the fleet. It coincided with the fact that the driver’s day in Russia was celebrated the same week. It was very symbolical since this proffesional celebration day is very important to all our drivers. A. Gelvanovsky thanked the drivers for their work and wished everyone the best of luck. The celebration was full of magical numbers – important digits and meaningful dates for our company.

How do you feel about becoming the 13 000th driver?
Great! It’s like a second birthday.
Why did you decide to become a professional driver?
First of all, it is the opportunity to travel, visit different countries. Second, it’s a great opportunity to learn foreign languages, discover something new, and broaden your horizons.
Why did you choose to work for Girteka Logistics?
I chose Girteka Logistics because I wanted to try myself in a prestigious European company.
What are your impressions of the company?
Impressions of the company are good, everyone is smiling, you are welcome here. I have to mention that the new company’s fleet made a big impression, for sure.
How was your recruitment process?
I went straight to the company, applied to the HR department, filled out the candidate’s form, and here I am.
We are delighted with the accomplishments of the company and we wish success in achieving goals of expanding the business and owning a fleet of 10 000 trucks as well as having 20 000 drivers in our team by year 2021.
Smolensk transport base was established 4 years ago. This city was chosen because of its convenient strategic location. The branch now employs 150 administrative staff and 2 070 drivers. We transport freights from European Union to Russia and from Russia to EU countries.
