Girteka, Europe’s largest road carrier, has for years been developing a cooperation model based on partnerships with thousands of smaller transport companies. The newly launched “Przetargi/Tenders” feature on the Girteka Partners Portal provides other carriers with simple and transparent access to tenders for regular transport routes and the ability to manage their bids in one place, offering an intuitive bidding process and up-to-date access to information on their bid status. This is another step by Girteka in developing cooperation with its partners and building a diversified transport network across Europe.
Currently, Girteka’s partner base includes several thousand carriers from Poland and across Europe, providing full truckload (FTL) transport services. The company consistently invests in digital solutions that simplify day-to-day cooperation and increase access to transport orders for smaller businesses.
The new “Przetargi/Tenders” feature on the Girteka Partners Portal responds to the growing interest from carriers. It enables them to perform regular transport operations under long-term contracts. Until now, Girteka has primarily made individual loads available to its partners through the platform. Now, carriers also have the opportunity to bid for regular transport routes under tenders published on the Girteka Partners Portal.
“As we continue to develop our freight forwarding services, we remain committed to building long-term cooperation with small and medium-sized carriers. We know that one of the biggest challenges for transport companies is ensuring business predictability and the ability to plan fleet utilisation over the long term. That is why we created “Przetargi/Tenders”, a feature that provides simple and transparent access to tenders for regular transport routes, allowing our partners to manage their bids in one place and flexibly adjust the scope of cooperation to their operational capabilities,” – said Paweł Stecko, Carrier Development Manager, brokerage at Girteka.
All tender information in one place
“Przetargi/Tenders” has been designed to simplify the process of participating in transport tenders as much as possible. The feature covers the entire process – from the publication of a tender, through submitting and managing bids, to communicating the final decision on the approval of a carrier’s bid. Girteka’s partners receive automatic notifications about new tenders published on the platform. After logging in, they can review detailed information on transport routes, the contract period, operational requirements and the type of trailer required. Information on the route map, estimated distance and estimated transit time is also available in one place.
An important aspect of the new feature is its transparency and flexibility. Carriers can filter available tenders by route, dates, status or tender reference number, as well as specify the transport volume they are able to deliver. This means that participating in a tender does not require committing to the entire contract. A transport company can indicate the number of loads that matches its current operational capacity.
“Our main goal was to create a user-friendly solution. One of the key features of ‘Tenders’ is the ability to flexibly declare transport capacity. Until now, the process of selecting partners for regular transport operations required significant involvement from both parties and relied, among other things, on email communication. Now, the entire process takes place in one place, and carriers can monitor the status of their bids in real time. This significantly increases the transparency of cooperation and enables faster business decision-making,” – emphasised Paweł Stecko.
Ongoing cooperation instead of one-off transport orders
The introduction of the “Przetargi/Tenders” feature expands the cooperation opportunities available through the Girteka Partners Portal. The platform continues to be primarily based on ad hoc loads, with around 4,000 published each week. The new feature, however, provides partners with an additional opportunity to grow their business by giving them access to regular transport operations carried out under long-term contracts. The tenders published in “Przetargi/Tenders” relate to projects carried out by Girteka across the European transport market. Depending on the scale of the project, part of the transport operations is performed by the company’s own fleet, while the remaining volume is made available to transport partners through the platform.
“Regular transport routes enable carriers to plan fleet utilisation more effectively and build greater revenue predictability, which is particularly important for small and medium-sized enterprises in today’s market environment,” – added Paweł Stecko.
A simple start to cooperation
Girteka places great emphasis on providing its partners with the simplest possible onboarding process. Registration on the Girteka Partners Portal is intuitive, and once the verification process is completed, carriers gain access to the platform’s full functionality, including both individual loads and participation in tenders through the “Przetargi/Tenders” feature. Partners can also rely on technical support and 24/7 access to the cargo operations team whenever a quick response is required.
An important aspect of the “Przetargi/Tenders” feature is the full transparency of the tender process. It is worth noting that submitting a bid does not automatically result in the award of a contract. Each bid is reviewed individually by Girteka after the bid submission period has ended, and the final decision is made after considering all submitted proposals.
Girteka works with carriers operating mainly refrigerated trailers and curtain-side trailers. Its transport network covers Poland, Germany, the Benelux countries, the United Kingdom, France, Italy and Spain across 34 transport corridors, and, in the case of refrigerated transport, also Norway, Sweden and Finland.
The launch of the “Przetargi/Tenders” feature is part of Girteka’s long-term strategy to develop digital tools that support cooperation with transport partners.
