CEO Letter to Employees: Celebrating 30 years of Girteka together

This year, Girteka celebrates its 30th anniversary. To open the anniversary year, CEO Edvardas Liachovičius shares his message to colleagues. It sets clear priorities for the year ahead and reinforces what defines Girteka: temperature-controlled and high-care logistics delivered efficiently and safely with our own fleet and full end-to-end responsibility.

Dear Colleagues,

This year, Girteka turns 30.

When I think about this milestone, I think about people. I think about the road behind us, and the road ahead. And I feel proud of what we have built together.

Thirty years were built on growth, staying close to customers, and delivering reliably, day after day. Our story started when Mindaugas Raila, Chairman of Girteka Group, bought the first MAN truck. Then came the first driver, the first customer, and the first load: glass containers from Panevėžys, Lithuania, to Germany.

Much has changed since then. We grew from one truck to a fleet of around 6,000, and from one colleague to a strong team of 15,000 skilled professionals. Girteka is strong because we learned to adapt and change again and again, while staying close to customers and keeping deliveries reliable and safe. And we kept a simple mindset that still matters today: every day, we try to do the job better than we did yesterday.

This is what makes Girteka real. It is also why customers and partners trust us, and why we have the right foundation for the years ahead.

Thank you to every one of you for being part of it.

What we do is a team effort. Some of us are on the road, some keep the fleet running, some plan, sell, support, and build systems behind every delivery. Different roles, one result: delivering 600 000 FTL every year.

This is why I want to recognise all teams across Girteka. Drivers who represent our standards on the road. Mechanics and technicians who keep our trucks safe and ready. Planners and transport managers who keep the network moving. Sales and customer service teams who earn trust and protect it every day. And every support function that helps us stay strong, professional, and reliable.

An anniversary is also a good moment to pause, look at where we are today, and set a clear direction for what comes next.

Let me be clear about the year ahead.

Last week, during our Management Conference, we aligned on the strategic direction for the next phase of Girteka. We spoke openly about performance, discipline, and expectations. It is a commitment to consistent execution – I want the entire organisation to hear this clearly.

Girteka set a clear mission – we deliver temperature controlled and high-care cargo efficiently and safely with our own fleet.

Our ambition is not only to be big. Our ambition is to perform well and consistently in the segment where quality matters most. When we commit to a customer, we deliver with our own people and our own assets. That gives us control, clear accountability, and the ability to improve through real feedback and real results. This is how trust is built over time.

And at the center of this model are our Drivers. They are our core and the true capacity of our business. Without their professionalism, discipline and commitment, there is no service, no reliability, no growth. Strengthening the driver experience, stability and engagement is a top priority because it directly defines our performance and our future.

This year, we will focus on doing the basics better, every day. We will strengthen planning discipline and create stable, predictable operations instead of reacting at the last minute. We will use our fleet more efficiently to create stability across operations. We will also develop our brokerage to support our core business – using it where it strengthens our network, improves load quality and supports our own fleet operations. We will keep strong cost discipline so we stay resilient and continue investing in the future. And we will hold safety and quality standards without compromise, because reliability is our reputation.

We will also keep living our values in practical ways. Expertise means we follow the right standards and share know-how. Accountability means we take ownership and solve problems early. Teamwork means we act as one company, support each other under pressure, and focus on the result.

The past few years have tested the whole industry. I am confident that our 30th anniversary will be a starting point for the next chapter. A chapter where we turn our scale into the best-performing, sustainably growing temperature-controlled and high-care logistics company.

I enter this anniversary year with calm confidence. We know what we stand for. We know what we need to improve. And we will do it together.

Thank you for your commitment and professionalism. Thank you for keeping Girteka moving, safely and reliably.
