Girteka Logistics, the largest asset-owned European logistics company, announced that it has made an addition to its Scandinavian Business management team and appointed Jens Romer Sode as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the region. The change was made to continue Girteka Logistics’ direction of growth to become a truly international business powerhouse across several markets.
Jens Romer Sode will begin his work as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the Scandinavian Business effective May 3, 2021.

Today, with the organizational change, we are continuing to move forward in the direction of our strategic growth and development to achieve that goal. I am excited that Jens, who has such a remarkable career in logistics, chose Lithuania and Girteka Logistics as the next step in his career and his personal life,” comments Edvardas Liachovičius, Chief Executive Officer at Girteka Holding.
Jens Romer Sode brings extensive international experience to Girteka Logistics, as he has worked in the logistics sector for more than 30 years. For the past three years, Jens Sode worked as the Regional Vice President for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) at APL Logistics. During his tenure there, he strengthened the organization’s presence within the region, focusing on strategic growth, employee engagement., and personally led several key commercial projects. Prior to that, Jens Sode worked at Damco as the CEO of the Benelux area and as the Global Head of Lifestyle Vertical. In total, his career within the Maersk group spanned more than 20 years in various roles.
“Jens is a strong leader and has crucial expertise in sales, key account management, procurement development, and supply chain management, including global operations and full financial ownership,” further adds Liachovičius.
Jens Sode will become a member of the Executive Board of the company and will directly report to the CEO of Girteka Holding, managing the Scandinavian region, including Thermomax and Thermo-Transit, in his role as the COO.
