Girteka, one of Europe’s leading road transport companies, is strengthening its operational presence in Poland as part of its focus on building a more reliable, flexible and customer-oriented logistics network across Europe.

The company continues to develop its transport base in Poznań as an important operational location supporting fleet maintenance, driver operations and daily transport execution across Europe. Together with Brokerage operations in Warsaw, these functions help Girteka maintain operational efficiency and respond to changing customer needs and market conditions.

Last week,  Girteka Group’s executive leadership team visited its operations in Poland, meeting with local teams in Warsaw and at the Transport Base in Poznań. The visit focused on daily operations, fleet maintenance, driver support, transport planning and the role of Brokerage in strengthening Girteka’s service offering for customers.

Poland has become a strategically important location for Girteka since the company started building its presence in the country in 2019. Poznań offers a strong operational position in Central Europe and plays an important role in supporting fleet maintenance, driver operations and daily transport execution. Girteka Drivers Academy is also based in Poznań, providing drivers with onboarding, training and professional support before starting operations across Europe.

“Poland has become an important part of Girteka’s European operations and future growth. Our Poznań base brings together people, vehicles, processes, and daily decision-making. Together with our Brokerage team in Warsaw, it strengthens our ability to respond to customer needs across Europe as a direct temperature-controlled and high-value logistics partner based on own fleet,” says Edvardas Liachovičius, CEO of Girteka Group.

In road transport, customer needs can change very fast. Demand, capacity, transport flows and delivery requirements are no longer fully predictable. This situation is met by combining the strength of own fleet with additional flexibility in the market. For Girteka, own fleet equals scale, discipline and accountability. Brokerage is a tool to respond when customer needs go beyond planned capacity or when the market situation changes.

“Brokerage is part of this broader logistics ecosystem. It helps us connect capacity, customer needs and operational execution in a more flexible way,” says Angel Kalinov, Head of Brokerage at Girteka.

The operational role of Girteka’s Poznań base is essential to ensuring responsiveness and operational quality across the company’s network. The Poznań Transport Base ensures that trucks are well-prepared, drivers are trained and ready, and operations can continue with discipline and speed.

Dmitrij Voitkevič, Head of Transport Operations in Poznań at Girteka Transport, says that continuous improvement remains central to the work of the base.

“Improvement is a continuous process. The visit from the executive leadership team gave us an opportunity to review our operations from a broader perspective and identify ways to improve how we work every day. These improvements directly contribute to service reliability, operational quality and customer satisfaction,” says Dmitrij Voitkevič.

More than 4,000 colleagues, including drivers, are connected to Girteka’s Poznań operations. The roles include transport management, planning, HR, legal, IT, maintenance, administration, driver support, and daily fleet operations across Europe. Nearly 300 maintenance experts work at the base servicing around 3,000 trucks every month. Drivers receive professional training and support in the Girteka Drivers Academy in Poznań.

Girteka’s mission is to deliver temperature-controlled and high-value cargo efficiently and safely with its own fleet. The company’s operations in Poland are an important part of this mission, helping Girteka provide reliable full truckload transport solutions across Europe.  As Girteka continues to develop its European network, Poland will remain a key location for operational execution, driver training and support, and fleet maintenance.
